I bought this car on Friday 13th.May 2010 via a Jaguar Specialist Wat jag of Derbyshire.
They had rebuilt the car over a 8 years for a customer from a total wreck,at a vast cost.12 years and 5000 miles later.I and my Wife bought it to replace(after 23 years of ownership) our 1936 Riley Kestrel Sprite as I needed a car with power steering due to a back problem and we thought it would go well with our 1967Jaguar S Type(also owned for 20 years plus) and the 1976 Triumph Stag.Having never met the previous owner, although we do have a large file on the rebuild,we know nothing of this car's history. Can anyone help?
Since buying MFU 923 Watjag have fitted a 5 speed gearbox, electric power steering,an altenator, uprated disc brakes radiator, electric cooling fan, electronic ign., hi torque starter motor and bucket seats. After some 12 months (almost to the day)and only1500 miles, disaster struck, the engine overheated and to cut a long story short,we had to have the engine rebuilt, the orignal block, that had been bored to 3.8 was so badly corroded that we had to find a replacement and the engine was rebuilt using that.We are just about to get the car back on the road again,so looking forward to some trouble free motoring this autumn.Mike & Ann Lavers,Sidmouth,UK.

Owner reports in the August 2015 edition of the XK Gazette that the car was damaged in an accident and sold to Twyford Motors.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
