Car to be at auction 9/22

    Auction description:

    Lot 355

    1959 Jaguar XK150 Roadster

    OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

    From The Rockhound Collection

    CHASSIS NO: S831161

    • Past recipient of a thorough restoration

    • An exquisite stance with an appealing red exterior

    • A staple of classic British sports cars

In true Jaguar fashion, this XK150 Drophead Coupé is the epitome of what a gentleman’s sports car should be. It is offered from The Rockhound Collection with an exquisite red paint scheme that is enhanced by the chrome knock-off wire wheels. The Drophead Coupé’s sweeping lines are unforgettable and set it apart from anything out on the street; thanks to a thorough restoration throughout the entire vehicle, it shows very well. Its sweeping lines lead into the open-air cockpit that is draped with black carpet and black leather on the seats and door panels. Hidden behind the bench seat is a folding black top, with a trunk lid behind that that comes with an emblem commemorating Jaguar’s success during their seven-year dominance at Le Mans, where they won five races in a short period of time. All the wealth of experience gained on those racetracks was used in every Jaguar model to provide the highest degree of efficient performance allied with comfort and safety.

Under the hood lies engine number V4918-8, a DOHC straight six that has garnered a reputation for delivering wonderful performance on the road. While the engine appears to be restored and set, it is noted that a new wiring harness will need to be installed before this Jaguar is ready for road use. Optioned with a nice color scheme, this XK150 is a staple in classic British sports cars and is a timeless beauty that knows few rivals and will only continue to grow in popularity and appeal.
