5856 total, original miles. Once owned by "Doc" Peter P. Scadron. A little scruffy, has been in a garage for a few years. Will be sympathetically brought back to road worthy, with originality maintained. Original tires, wiper blades, etc.

Would like to know if anyone remembers this car from Dcs Jags. It was reputedly used by JCNA and others to check originality due to its extreme low mileage and utter original condition. I would like some confirmation of this fact I true! Thanks, Koke TS

I travelled to the 1995 Milwaukee JCNA Biennial concour/rally to check why Jags judged in the USA were scoring in the very high 99.9% and cars in Australia were only scoring in the 96% mark I found the judging wasn't picking up all the faults and lack of authenticity in the cars judged.
Anyway did meet Doc for the first time and believe he lived in the vicinity at this point. This particular car was there and Doc was at that point fighting to get a preservation class in the JCNA concour which he did ie a class for very good original cars so they could be saved, better than ruining them by restoring them. He would have based his proposal on this car which was from memory extraordinarily original (excluding cut down windscreen of course) due to its very low mileage. I wrote a report for his submission to the JCNA board. I don't think anyone specifically checked out this car specifically as a benchmark excepting Doc using as a benchmark of authenticity. Sure people judging XK's etc sure have made a point of examining the car if they came across it. I did take a few photos at the time.
I still have the T shirt Doc gave me at Milwaukee on the back it says "Doc Koalawality"
Where is Doc these days?

The windscreen looks different.

Or do I need to go to Specsavers?

Not Specsavers - I just should read the text first, before commenting.

Thanks Terry and Jeremy. I never noticed the 'screen, sure does look cut down looking at other cars. Terry, any chance you could post the pics here or email copies to me? Ktsats (at) aol. What is Specsavers?

Terry - Doc turned out to be a crook, he's in jail I believe. Lots of problems for folks with cars at his place. My brother lost a 120 coupe in the auctions of the stuff confiscated. Google " Docs Jags" or Peter Scandron for more info. Cheers!

I figured out Specsavers. Hahaha

Terry knows all about Doc...just not where he is now.
most likely rotting in the desert either alive or dead.
don't believe he was ever arrested but he did have a contract out on him.
would have been better off in jail with free food and water since he was left with nothing except possible cars squirreled away in Europe....XK150....
his wife left him, his daughter disowned him,he lost 2 houses, he stole millions in cars , money and parts, restored cars badly, sold customer cars to other people and would then report them stolen, sold some cars to many people at one time, changed a lot of chassis numbers....oh there is more....

Yes there is more!
It is going to take a lifetime to sort out everything he did with alloy 120s he is responsible for several replicas passed off as the real thing !!!

Finally spent a few days with the XK last week, happy to report she runs like a top! Did not drive, don't want to add any miles to its current 5856.
May be the lowest mileage XK out there. Thinking of selling it on, too many cars and not enough time. Cleaning it up from 14 years of storage, will need a sympathetic refurbishment to be safe and roadworthy. Anybody making the CORRECT rubber wire connector blocks? The 65 year old ones are looking a little sad.

This particular Jaguar XK120 roadster was delivered to Charles H. Hornburg of Los Angeles, California, and was shipped T.T. Pascoe Ltd aboard the S.S. Pacific Importer. Mr. Hornburg would probably retain the car for a short while until it passed to a Mr. James Flaherty, of South Gate, California. The car was most likely registered in the state until at least 1960, as indicated by a sticker dated with the same year on the rear plate. After this time, the whereabouts of the vehicle remain unknown until the 1990s when it was acquired by a Jaguar dealer.

By this point, the car had an indicted 5,750 miles, and a production trace certificate was issued.

In 2003 the car passed to William Twigg Smith II on February 7. At this time, a few things had been replaced to make the car a runner, but all of the original components were kept with the car. The original wheels with their original tires were also taken off the car and preserved. The car would remain with William Twigg Smith until 2016 when it was sold to the consigner.

When inspected recently, this Jaguar XK120 appears to be a remarkably preserved example and the indicated millage of 5,856 is believed to be correct. The car still wears its original color scheme of red on red as indicated by the heritage certificate, and is believed to be the original paintwork, and original interior. The only non-factory modification plainly evident on the vehicle is a shortened windscreen, a project more than likely completed early on in the car's life.

Any Jaguar or preservation-class car enthusiast should treat themselves to a close inspection of this stunning "time-capsule" automobile still retaining factory markings and tags along with the original matching numbers drivetrain. Accompanying the sale of the car is its original tool kit, jack, original tires, and Jaguar-issued Heritage Trust Certificate. With just 5,856 original miles on the odometer at the time of cataloging, this is unquestionably one of the best-preserved Jaguar XK120s in existence.
