Ebay item 11/2/18

www.ebay.com/itm/1954-Jaguar-XK120-SE/253960589406

Current bid: $20,200 reserve not met, 11 bids 9 days left in auction seller mikexk8 car now said to be in Lakeland, Floorida, 58k miles.

Seller's description;

The car has been in storage for 54 years. It is an original matching numbers car, and original paintwork,and interior. The car has 58,000 original miles on the clock, and was owned by the previous owner for 52 years, having purchased it in 1960. Car was in storage in Canada and towed back to Florida by the current owner in 2012. Too many competing needs for restoration and money forces a reluctant sale.

The car is remarkable for being 62 years old, but is in need of full restoration.

The car has a Heritage Certificate, and an original personal record book (not log book) listing the first two owners,and service records

The car is currently undergoing a body-off restoration. Pictures will be posted at appropriate stages of the restoration process. Patience is a much-needed virtue in this process, I am learning.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
