Hard to recall now that these were just old cars once, and ripe for this sort of conversion. Were there really seven of these made?

This chassis was built 1958 (February) It would be interesting to know something about the creator of this series

This car was built by Bruce Adams from a frame/chassis he got from Bruce Maclean Venice California. I can find date and certainly Adams was planning to build more than one he also got chassis S835884BW for this project and they were to be called BA Special's. Only one was done thank goodness. There is a small article in a jaguar magazine 1970's about it and the maiden drive

Current bid $10,100, no reserve 9 bids 8 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. 10k miles.

    Sellers description:
This is one of seven hand built cars of which were built on the Jaguar XK150 chassis in California. The engine is the XK 4.2 liter duel overhead camshaft type with automatic transmission. The induction is duel Zenith Stromberg CD175 carburetors. The car has Jaguar XKE Master Cylinders and servo assist four wheel disc brakes. The entire running gear is Jaguar. The mileage is under 11,000 miles. The car drives very nice and is quite fast! The engine runs very well with no unusual noise's or smoking. It shifts smoothly through the gears and all gauges work as they should. It has excellent oil pressure. The wheels are 72 spoke Dunlop wire spoke wheels with knock-offs. The car is a real head turner and has a very nice exhaust note! The brake system has been gone through here in our shop (Eau Claire British Car). The paint is good but not show quality, there is a spot behind the passenger side front wheel that it appears that some brake fluid discolored the finish (see photo). The car has a convertible top and full tonneau cover, however there are no side curtains. It has a spare wheel/tire and there is a knock off hammer in the boot. The owner asked if we could list this car on EBAY for him as he does not do Ebay. He has been an avid car collector for years but has decided to down size his car collection and plans to move to Florida. The car has a clear WISCONSIN title. We do not own the car but we will assist in the sale and answer any questions you may have. We encourage you to come out and inspect the vehicle before bidding. I've described this vehicle to the best of my ability but may not have every little detail perfect. Sorry! I am the owner of Eau Claire British Car a British Car service and restoration shop here in Eau Claire WI. I also own a series 1 XKE Jaguar Roadster. The car is located in Chippewa Falls WI and can be seen by appointment. The vehicle is sold as is with no warranty. The car has no rust or visible damage.

Bruce is still in business (2015) in Salton Sea CA..Bruce built several BA specials over the years and used to drive one to work when he worked for me. He is an excellent painter-fiberglass man.

I have this car at my shop right now, am looking for more details about the engine, someone pulled the distributor and now the car don't run right, timing is too far advanced and if I retard it, it starts popping back out of the carbs. is this the engine that was put in the car when it was built or has it been changed? I don't know if it is possible to get ahold of the builder or not, but if it is, my number is (252)489-0996.
    thank you.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
