I posted the update. There is no clash. This vehicle is untouched and I have a photo of the original data plate. If you leave your email I would be more than happy to forward you a picture. Best Wishes.

Would love a copy of the data plate! There are pics on Docs Jags website - is the car still there, or is he just offering it for sale for you? Would be interested to hear where the car has spent its last 60 years anyway. - Regards, John

To John Elmgreen; Doc's Jags does not have the vehicle. He did have the vehicle under consignment, but that has expired. The vehicle is for sale. The XK has been with my family for the last 60 Years. It is kept in a barn in PA right now, but spent most of it's life in New England (Mass). It would be our hope that someone would be able to restore the vehicle back to it's original glory. I will update the site with more info when time permits. Thank You.

Car now offered at:
www.gullwingmotorcars.com/1950-jaguar-xk120-alloy-c-5522.htm
Seller's description:
This extremely rare Alloy Body 1950 Jaguar XK120 Roadster is one of a mere 242 aluminum-bodied XK120 Roadsters produced in total. Chassis number 77009 is a factory Left-Hand Drive example that was originally born in Bronze with Biscuit and Tan interior. Today, it has a non-matching numbers engine and there are several parts missing from the car, though it is largely complete. Just out of a collection where it has been sitting in storage. It's not everyday that you come across such a special car to restore. Offered with its Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
The first Jaguar XK 120 was built in only six weeks for London?s 1948 Earls Court Motor Show, and it created a sensation, to say the least. The earliest cars were constructed with aluminum panels over a wood frame, since aluminum was light and easy to work with and was not rationed like steel. Jaguar boss William Lyons originally planned to sell only 200 XK 120s, but at a factory list price of only 998 for the fastest production car in the world at that time, orders poured in so fast that production soon switched to steel bodies that could be built much faster and in greater numbers. The alloy-bodied roadster represents Lyons? vision for this groundbreaking Jaguar in its original and purest form.
