Up for sale is my 1953 Jaguar xk120 Drophead Coupe. 100% rust free and straight body. This car spent most of its life in Oklahoma. At some point in its history the engine was swapped for a slightly larger 4.2l engine out of an early xj6. It was non running when I acquired the car several years ago. I have since went through the carburetors, the fuel system and the brakes in order to get it running and driving. It will drive around a parking lot but I have never taken it on the road. The headlights, horn and turn signals work. About half of the gauges work. I am only selling because I reccently aquired an xk140. The 120 is an incredible car that needs a good home. Asking 44,000 OBO.

This metallic green 1953 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe was fitted with a 4.2L inline-six and replacement four-speed manual transmission and was stored for several decades before being acquired by the prior owner, who recommissioned it for the road and overhauled the fuel and brake systems. After being purchased by the seller in 2025, the front suspension was refreshed and a replacement clutch, Bell exhaust system, and tires were installed. This XK120 Drophead Coupe is now offered with spare parts, parts receipts, a car cover, and an Ohio title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in metallic green, and exterior equipment includes a split front windshield, chrome front bumpers, chrome rear bumperettes, and a polished exhaust outlet. The soft top requires replacement, and the seller notes evidence of prior accidents and body work on the front and rear of the vehicle. Chips, blemishes, and other imperfections are visible throughout the body. The wipers are not functional.

The 16″ steel wheels were refinished in September 2025, and they wear hubcaps and trim rings. Michelin X tires were installed under current ownership, and the front suspension was refreshed with replacement front upper bushings, upper ball joints, and shocks. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums.

The cabin features bucket seats with black upholstery. Replacement wood floor boards were installed in 2025, and the carpets have been removed. The heater is not hooked up.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 1,500 miles, approximately 300 miles of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown, and the fuel level gauge intermittently works.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was reportedly sourced from a 1972 XJ6 and fitted some time ago. An aluminum radiator and electric cooling fan were installed by the prior owner, and the fuel tank and pump were replaced. The spark plug wires and battery were replaced by the seller.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. A replacement clutch kit, pressure plate, and throwout bearing were installed and the flywheel was resurfaced in 2025. A Bell stainless-steel exhaust system was also installed under current ownership, and the seller notes that the underside has been painted. First gear is said to be noisy.

The Ohio title lists “Exceeds Mechanical Limits” under the mileage notation section. The NMVTIS database lists a Junk title associated with VIN 677523 issued in Illinois in February 1992, though the seller believes this record is associated with another car.
