This 1953 Jaguar XK120 SE roadster was purchased by the seller in 1974 from Wilshire West Motor Classics in Los Angeles. Restoration work was carried out in October 1983, which included rebuilding the engine, overhauling the interior, and repainting the exterior. Power is provided by a 3.4-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in red over black upholstery. Equipment includes dual SU carburetors, chrome bumpers and bumperettes, driving lights, 16” wire wheels with knock-off hubs, lap belts, and Smiths gauges. This XK120 is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, service records, spare parts, a car cover, a black tonneau cover, and a Wyoming title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted in red in 1983. Exterior equipment includes a split windshield, chrome front bumpers, twin front driving lights, chrome rear bumperettes, and dual exhaust outlets. The car does not have a convertible top. The windshield wipers do not work, and a paint crack is visible near the rear fender piping.
The 16” wire wheels were mounted with 6.00-16 Lester tires in August 2025. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension with telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers as well as semi-elliptical rear leaf springs and Girling hydraulic rear shock absorbers. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include lap belts, a passenger-side grab handle, door map pockets, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 70k miles.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six features dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 180 horsepower in SE specification. The engine was rebuilt during the 1983 refurbishment, and the cylinder head has been replaced.
The cylinder head is stamped with V3224-8, while the factory data plate engine number reads W7121-8S.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The chassis number is S673410. The car is titled in Wyoming using the original engine number, W7121-8S, and the title carries an “Over 10 Years” notation under the Odometer heading.
