This 1955 Jaguar XK140 roadster is finished in red over tan leather upholstery and powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2016, and a subsequent refurbishment by OMAG Automotive in Palm Springs, California involved a repaint, an interior retrim, and rebuilds of the twin SU carburetors. Equipment includes a tan soft top, 16” wire wheels, front disc brakes, fender-mounted side mirrors, and chrome bumpers with overriders. This XK140 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner in California with a tool roll, a car cover, service records dating to 2018, and a clean Michigan title.
The car was repainted in red during the aforementioned refurbishment, and the split windshield and support pillars were replaced along with the tan soft top. Additional exterior details include fender vents, dual side mirrors, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
Chrome 16” knockoff wire wheels are secured with two-eared spinners and are mounted with 185-series Pirelli radial tires. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes up front and drums out back.
The interior was retrimmed in Biscuit leather sourced from Muncie Imports, and fitted with Cinnamon carpets during the refurbishment. The steering column wiring was replaced in 2022.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a reverse-sweep tachometer with an inset clock accompanied by a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The instruments were rebuilt in 2018, and the speedometer cable was replaced in 2022. The five-digit odometer shows 42k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with twin SU carburetors, which were rebuilt in 2018. An electric cooling fan has been installed, and the controller was replaced in 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission that was retrofitted under prior ownership. The dual exhaust system terminates in polished finishers, and the muffler hangers were replaced in 2021.
A tool roll and car cover are included in the sale.

This 1955 Jaguar XK140 roadster was built in January 1955 and dispatched new to Charles Hornburg’s distributorship in Los Angeles, California. The current owner acquired the car in 2016, and a subsequent refurbishment by OMAG Automotive in Palm Springs, California, included repainting the car in red and retrimming the interior in tan leather. Power is supplied by a 3.4-liter inline-six that was mated with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission under prior ownership. This vehicle was previously listed on BaT in July 2023, and work conducted since that time has involved overhauling the twin SU carburetors and draining the fuel system, rebuilding the front brake calipers, installing driving lights, and replacing the steering-rack boots and the battery. Other equipment includes a tan soft top, 16” wire wheels, front disc brakes, an aluminum radiator, an auxiliary electric cooling fan, fender-mounted side mirrors, and chrome bumpers. This XK140 is now offered in California by the seller on behalf of the owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a tool roll, service records, a car cover, and a Michigan title in the owner’s name.
Finished from the factory in Pastel Green, the car was repainted in red in 2018 during the aforementioned refurbishment. The split windshield and support pillars were replaced, as was the tan soft top. Exterior details include Lucas driving lights, fender vents, fender-mounted side mirrors, bright trim, dual exhaust outlets, and full-width chrome bumpers with overriders. The windshield glass was replaced in 2018, and the car’s hood was replaced in 2019. The seller notes that the top has shrunk and is torn on its right side.
Chrome-finished 16” knockoff wire wheels are secured with two-eared spinners and are mounted with 185-series Pirelli Cinturato radial tires that were manufactured in 2012. A wire wheel with a Michelin tire is stored under the trunk floor. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes up front and drums out back. The front brake calipers were overhauled in September 2025, the brake fluid was flushed, and the boots for the rack-and-pinion steering were replaced.
The interior was retrimmed in Biscuit leather sourced from Muncie Imports and fitted with Cinnamon carpets in 2018. Interior appointments include a cabin heater, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger-side grab handle, and door-panel storage pockets.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock accompanied by a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The instruments were rebuilt in 2018, and the speedometer cable and the steering-column wiring were replaced in 2022. The five-digit odometer shows 42k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership. The clock and the fuel gauge do not work.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with twin SU carburetors and a C-type cylinder head. A Dynalite negative-ground alternator was installed in 2018. An aluminum radiator, an electric cooling fan, and an electric fuel pump have been installed, and the electric fan’s controller was replaced in 2022. The carburetors were rebuilt in September 2025, and the fuel system was drained, the battery was replaced, and the oil and filter were changed.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors and identification numbers along with a build date of January 4, 1955, and distribution through Charles Hornburg in Los Angeles.
The Michigan title is denoted as a duplicate certificate.
