The Heritage certificate goes on to say, “Vehicle is a 1959 model year, but likely ‘grandfathered’ and sold by the dealer as a 1960. This was legal at the time.” Philip Porter’s book agrees with the build date. It was the 52nd LHD OTS built in 12/1958 (the last car built in 11/1958 was S831839).
The Heritage Certificate says that the exterior was originally Cotswold Blue, the interior was red, and the hood was fawn. Porter’s book (2003 edition, page 143) indicates Cotswold Blue cars had only dark blue or gray interiors with blue or black hoods respectively. Fawn hoods were only on red or white cars. Red interiors could be had on all colored cars except the two blues and the two greens. Possibly this car was a special order. The car is currently BRG/Biscuit/Black.
