This 1958 Jaguar XK150 Fixed-Head Coupe is presented by the selling dealer as a running project that he suggests could be made into a fun driver with fuel system work and other details. The Jag’s chassis, body, and engine numbers (shown in photos) match the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate for the car. The seller, an established dealer and trader of classic Jaguars and other European cars, reports buying this Jaguar from the family of the man who owned it for 12 years. “He tinkered with the car, but it was rarely driven,” he says. “The car will drive, but it currently does not stay running long enough to go any distance.” The Jaguar had an older restoration, with the exterior and interior colors changed. (See details below.) The seller says the paint looks decent from 15-20 feet but has considerable checking and some fade marks. He highlights these in the included walk-around video.

The seller notes that the XK inline-six six shows nearly 40 psi oil pressure on start-up. An engine cold compression test on 8/14/26 showed roughly 145-150 psi on all six cylinders, seen in the supplied images. New spark plugs were installed during that test. The seller says, “The fuel pump sounds like it is working, but the fuel system will have to be gone through, as well as whatever else the car may need to get it running and driving correctly.”

This 1958 Jaguar XK150 Fixed-Head Coupe has an older restoration showing wear.

The seller calls the car a running project that could be made into a fun driver.

New, the 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six was rated at 190 horsepower.

The engine starts but will run only for a few minutes.

He suspects a has a fuel system issue that will require diagnosis and repair.

The previous owner had the car for 12 years but rarely drove it.

Two new 6-volt batteries were recently installed. (This is a positive ground car.)

The oil pressure shows close to 40 psi on start-up, the seller reports.

Photos show a replacement stainless-steel exhaust system.

The chromed knock-off-hub wire-spoke wheels show a good shine in the photos.

The exterior color was changed from Pearl Grey to red in an older restoration.

The interior trim was changed from blue to black.

The seller affirms that the exterior lights and signals all work.

Most interior switches are confirmed to be operable.

The heater motor and windshield wipers are likewise said to be working properly.

The seller notes some corrosion on the inner rocker panel but says the frame appears to be solid.

The re-covered leather seats appear in good condition.

The replacement doorcards and carpeting also show well in the provided photos.

The steering wheel appears to have non-factory wood trim on the spokes.

COMES WITH

The Jaguar tool kit and a shop manual come with the XK150.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirming the correct vehicle numbers and color is included.

An original laminated Jaguar XK150 maintenance chart is also part of the documentation.

NEEDS

This 1958 Jaguar XK150 starts and runs for short periods.

The seller says the engine will need fuel system work, and possibly other things.

The older repaint is good for a driver but is checked and shows some fade areas.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
