Accompanied by a copy of its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, owner’s handbook, maintenance chart, and select service invoices from years past
Completed on 1 March 1960, this factory 3.8-liter XK 150 wears the lavish drophead coupe body style with vent windows and insulated convertible soft-top. Per the car’s accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust history certificate, it was originally finished in the ultimate Jaguar color combination of British Racing Green over tan leather with a Sand convertible top. After its completion, this left-hand drive example was dispatched to the United States through Jaguar Cars of New York.
Said to be wearing an older restoration, this example is now presented in white over brown leather with a black fabric soft-top. The leather interior presents well with the front seats showing a lived-in patina. The drophead wears dual fender-mounted sideview mirrors and rides on period-correct, 48-spoke, chrome wire wheels shod in wide whitewall tires to give the car a wonderfully regal appearance. Lot #231562
This 1960 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupe is a left-hand-drive example that was built on March 1, 1960 and distributed in the US through Jaguar Cars of New York. It was repainted in white over brown leather during an older refurbishment and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023. The car is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and additional features include a black soft top, chrome bumpers with overriders, a dual exhaust system, four-wheel disc brakes, and polished knock-off wire wheels. Service in preparation for the sale consisted of replacing the front right caliper and the front brake hoses. This XK150 is now offered with Jaguar Heritage Trust certificates, service records, and a clean Ohio title.
Finished from the factory in British Racing Green, the car was repainted white and fitted with a black soft top some time ago. The car is equipped with a dual exhaust system, a one-piece windshield, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Various paint cracks and imperfections are visible around the body.
The 16″ wire wheels are secured with two-eared knockoff hubs and are mounted with Coker Classic whitewall tires. A full-size spare is stored under the trunk floor. Braking is through discs at all four corners, and the right front caliper and front brake hoses were replaced in preparation for the sale.
The adjustable front seats have been reupholstered in brown leather, and the rear seats, dash, and door panels have been re-trimmed to match. Brown carpets line the floors, and interior appointments include a cabin heater, a defroster, wind-up side windows, door storage pockets, and a folding rear bulkhead. The selling dealer notes wear on interior surfaces and tears in the leather by the emergency brake handle.
The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 6k-rpm tachometer with an embedded clock as well as a 140-mph speedometer and an ammeter alongside gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 10k miles, a handful of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD6 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 220 horsepower.
Cylinder head stamping VA1645-8 is shown above, and a corresponding number is listed on the data plate and the Heritage Trust certificate.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate shows the factory colors and identification numbers, along with a completion date of March 1, 1960.
