Car was at auction 12/09
www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r

Auction description:
Lot No: 526
1950 Jaguar XK120
Registration no. 678 NOK
Chassis no. 660133
Engine no. F1607-8

Sold for £63,100 inclusive of Buyer's Premium
This XK120 was completed in July 1950 with engine 'W1658-8' and originally registered 'KDU 301' in Coventry in September of that same year. In its early life the XK was finished in blue. By the mid-1980s the car had passed into the ownership of well-known concours-winning XK enthusiast, Vic Gill of Figsbury, Wiltshire, who had it restored by a local garage. Vic's obituary in Jaguar Driver magazine (July 2006) shows him standing next to '678 NOK' together with Murray Walker. The car has featured in the JDC and JEC journals on several other occasions and is illustrated in 'Essential Jaguar XK' by Mike Lawrence (page 25) and Nigel Thorley's publication, 'Jaguar All The Cars', which features it on the cover.
Acquired by the current vendor in April 1992, '678 NOK' is currently taxed and it is hoped that a fresh MoT will have been obtained by time of sale. (The car was last MoT'd to May 2009 and comes with Swansea V5). A nice tool roll and some small tools are included in the sale.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
