A WONDERFUL SIGHT - TOTALLY EARLY ORIGINAL XK120
Some people may be shocked, but I think it is wonderful to find an XK120 which is showing its proverbial 'war wounds' and is totally original.
This was one of the star exhibits at the Jaguar National Rally Display and is RHD chassis #151.
According to the 'bible', Jaguar XK120 in the Southern Hemisphere, this car was completed on July 24, 1950 and despatched to Brylaws in Melbourne.
It was sold on March 29 1951 to a lady in far off rural Queensland, and has spent all of its life in the remote Australian countryside.
It was sold in 1954 and again in 1960, this time to a pilot and farmer - hence the plane mascot.
It was maintained in good condition into the 1980s, and today remains a running car which is road registered.
The owner died in 1997, and it is believed to be retained as part of his estate.
... no it's not for sale!
