This car is mentioned in the XK News section of Jaguar Driver magazine February 2003. The registration number is given as KWR 362 and chassis number 660398. The original distributors in 1950 were Glovers Ltd, Ripon, Yorkshire.
The owner, David Canham was asking for information on the history of the car. One of the previous owners was said to have owned the car for 19 years.

The plea for further information on his car (see above) was answered in the April 2003 issue of Jaguar Driver by Roy Marsh and Nick Smith of Swallow Engineering who did a complete restoration on the car on behalf of the new owner Jim Green. Two photo albums were compiled of the detailed restoration.

I owned this car for about 6 years after buying it from Mr J Green who owned it for 19 years and went to Le Mans in it 3 times when I got the car it was on London Taxi tyres which screamed loudly on any corner, I drove it everywhere when I could. I did nothing major to the car but tided it up quite a lot. Engine, gearbox, chassis, axle, carbs, grill and bonnet are the original items and these are different from later cars.

Car listed as sold at:
www.purnellclassics.co.uk/stocklist_detail.php

Sellers description:
Jaguar XK120 Open Top Sports - 1950 SOLD

This car has been known and driven by us over several years.

It is a first class car that could be sold as it is.

With original matching numbers and first class history plus all the features of the early 1950 cars. The car drives beautifully. Drives almost every year to the major events Le Mans and Classic etc.

Because of the rarity of this car we have decided to treat this wonderful XK 120 car to a photographic bare metal repaint which will retain its original Pastel Blue colour.

This car will be available in the New Year fully completed but can be viewed in advance of work starting.

I think this car used to belong to our family for over 20 years
in Jersey, mid 1950s - late 1970s.

George of Doenni Classic Car sent me a page from an old booklet that he got in 1985 of a museum that was going to open soon. He was actually there before the opening. On the other hand it does not exist anymore, the cars are all sold. However he spotted that our family is mentionnend in there and also me. It mentions Nick Smith of Swallow.

i have photos & the origional Hand book, & know a bit about the car if any one is interested?
