Car now offered at:

pendine.com/cars-for-sale/1950-jaguar-xk120-roadster-2/

Seller's description:

This is a lovely Home Market Roadster, one of our favourites. It’s been known to and owned by Club members for many years, including renowned historic car artist Alan Fearnley. Ownership is known back to 1960, as documented in the old style green log book, with over 40 years of service and MOT history. It was extensively restored by DK Engineering in the mid 1970s, and since then there is a constant stream of invoices showing upgrades and maintenance.

Upgrades include:

Disk brake conversion, front

Coopercraft brakes, front

Louvered bonnet

Overdrive gearbox

C-Type head

2 inch Sand Cast SU Carburettors

Stainless steel exhaust system

Pedal box for greater leg room

It has recently had an extensive service, including the fitting of Michelin tyres all round. It drives beautifully, with the feel of a well sorted, well considered, well looked after enthusiasts XK. It sounds great on the stainless exhausts, and starts, goes and stops better than almost any XK120 Roadster we’ve driven. The interior shows delicious patina and the paint has settled nicely. All in all a very usable, sporty roadster with a nice history – perfect for the Jaguar aficionado.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
