This car is still currently , as at 14 June 2011, registered in New Zealand.

Has had the registration plate changed from AL6246 to WLYONS and back to AL6246 again.

AL6246 xk120 was owned by Lionel Morris in 1966 and 67. It was then sold to Kieran Clinton

I owned the car in the late sixties as my wife Teresa has stated. I purchased the car from Dave Silcock who used to race it at Ruapuna. I drove the car in the first round the South island car rally to celebrate the opening of the Haas Pass. Unfortunately we did not finish as we entered a blind ford at some speed, and broke the engine mountings. We spent a week in Wanaka having the car repaired. I "picked up" my wife Teresa using the car as bait, and we have been married for 48 years!

This car is mentioned in "XK Bulletin Sept. 1977" in a letter from the then owner Bill Clouston, Hamilton, New Zealand. He stated it had raced and was fitted with a modified 3.8 motor, straight-port head, 3 x 48mm Twin-choke carbs and close-ratio gearbox. It also has a disc brake conversion up front.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
