The next reference I have found is a photo taken on the Stelvio Pass in July 1952 competing in the Rallye Des Alpes-see Viart book giving the name of FLOWER as the driver-rally number 400. This photo is also in Clausager-p.147. The car does not appear in the results listed in "The Motor" magazine July 1952.
Is it reasonable to conclude that the car had "Works" preparation/support?

I have been unable to find any suggestion that this car had works preparation or support, in the archives. The picture which is stated to have been from June 1952 is from the same month that the car was sold new, so it would appear that there was a special order for the spare wheel rack and that the car was delivered with that fitted. It crashed badly in the Alpine Rally, but still apparently managed an entry in the Mont Blanc rally shortly thereafter (see the book above). Presumably it never went to Egypt although it was ordered from there.
