Current bid $18,600, no reserve, 17 bids, 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Offered for auction with no reserve a 1953 Jaguar XK120 O.T.S. Roadster.Chassis number 661124, Registration number EX8118, Engine number G 4820-8 (non- numbers matching) suffix 8, 8 to 1 compression. produced for sale in the United Kingdom, the car is right hand drive. It was shipped to the U.S. in Sept 1991 when it's English owner was transferred to the states. Maintenance documentation starting from May 1953 showing that this magnificent automobile has had over $53,000.00 invested in it maintaining it's true English performance potential. Partial listing of maintenance includes, May 87 Conversion to wire wheels $4250.00 in the U.K. Nov. 89 New rear springs, shocks, wiper motor, brakes , master cylinder $1345.00 in the U.K. May 91 New Porcelain manifolds, complete exhaust system $2500.00 in the U.K. Aug 91 Connolly leather interior and wool carpets $6500.00 in the U.K. Oct. 94 Rebuild & rechrome front bumpers, lamps, windshield $1260.00 in the U.S. June 2000, Complete Engine rebuild, rebuild head, rebuild carburetors, generator, starter, complete wiring loom, new aluminum radiator, clutch and pressure plate, fuel pump. $17,400.00 in the U.S. Nov 2001 New fuel tank ( not installed) $375.00 This car is a true loved and maintained survivor, not a rotten rebuild. The car shows a little under 15000 miles on the odometer, because of it's age I have no way to know if this is correct or actual mileage. The undercarriage is unmolested showing minimal deterioration. The body is very solid showing only minor dents and dings, the paint is older and very presentable, but not show quality. The connolly leather interior and wool carpets are beautiful. The top and side curtains are black harts cloth and look as new. The engine explodes to life with a with a touch of the starter button and runs crisp and strong. Transmission and clutch shifts smooth and quiet.. The car is very exciting to drive. There are many extra orginial parts that come with the car, original spats ,original wheels and hubs, side curtains, full english service manual, operators manual, new fuel tank, new complete gasket set.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
