www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r

Auction description:
Sale 18213 - Collectors' Motor Cars and Automobilia, 2 Jul 2010
Goodwood Festival of Speed, Chichester, Sussex
Lot No: 366
1954 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupé
Registration no. OLD 120
Chassis no. 667170
Engine no. K5037-8
Estimate: £44,000 - 50,000

This late XK120 was restored by during 1986/87 by R Vincent Coachworks, of Ringwood and acquired on 29th April of the latter year by the current vendor. Finished in green with original brown leather interior, the car benefits from a new radiator (fitted two years ago) and four new tyres. It is described as in generally good condition mechanically, with 'fair' bodywork and paint, while the hood is said to need attention. Boasting the wonderfully apt registration 'OLD 120', the car is offered with current road fund licence, MoT to July 2011 and Swansea V5.

I owned this car in the late 60s ( I think I have the date correct)I have often wondered whether this car had survived. I had a report from a friend who had seen at a Jaguar Driver's Club event at Silverstone. When I owned it had blue (Metallic?) bodywork. I would be interested to know more about
its current whereabouts

My Dad, Robbie Vincent who owned R Vincent Coachworks, restored this car. He still has lots of photos of all the cars he's restored over the years! Beautiful.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
