Car to be at auction 12/13
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Lot 435 - 1954 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe
Estimate: £68,000 - £75,000
Registration Number: NWT 277
Chassis Number: 667172

This rare Drop-head is one of around 200 made, Chassis No 667172 , Engine No F1474-8 , was originally registered in 1954 in the UK. The car sports Old English White paintwork, with a complementary red leather interior and a stunning walnut dashboard- specially for the Drop-head coupe.

It has been lovingly cared for and comes complete with a large history file. Included in the file is a photographic rebuild folder, a heritage certificate and a current UK V5 registration document along with a wide variety of bills and receipts.

A most sort after and desirable model - this car has already had the obligatory rebuild and is now ready to be used and enjoyed.

This original righthand drive Jaguar XK120 drophead coupé was supplied by Appleyard of Leeds in January 1954 finished in Dove Grey. It was imported back to the UK in 1983 after being repainted in white and since that time it has had three owners. In 2005 this XK120 was subject to a ground up restoration repainting the car in Old English White with red leather interior and black mohair roof. This superb example is supplied with a V5C registration document, a Heritage certificate, a file containing invoices from 1993, old registration documents, old MoT test certificates; the last having expired in June last year, and a photograph album containing pictures of the restoration in 2005. A very rare opportunity to acquire a nicely restored and rare righthand drive Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupé which represents an ideal investment opportunity for the prudent collector.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
