Car to be at Coy's auction 5/10
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php

Auction description:
1954 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe
Lot 145
Registration Number: NFF 413 Chassis Number: 667179

NFF 413 was first registered in 1954 and is one of less than 300 right hand drive XK120 drophead convertibles produced. It was subject to a full body-off restoration in 1986 and was purchased by the current owner in 1994, who describes its present condition as excellent throughout. The car has been properly and regularly serviced and maintained with a new hood fitted in 2005 by Suffolk & Turley and it was repainted in 2006. Practical improvements made over the years include the installation of a stainless exhaust, front disc brakes, an alloy fuel tank and air conditioning. The XK120 is used regularly, including for continental touring, and has been a reliable and faithful companion.

Finished in old English white with a red leather interior and supplied with the V5, an MoT certificate valid until May 2011 and a box of documents and invoices detailing its history, this is a beautiful example of a classic Jaguar ready to be enjoyed by its new owner.

Estimate: £40000 - £50000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
