This car belonged to Ed West in LA. I have numerous detail pictures. It was in complete. Ed is/was a great jaguar supporter, selling original and remanufactured parts for many years.

Car now offered at:
www.cargold-collection.com/stocklist/jaguar-xk-120-alloy-roadster-1950/index.htm ...
Seller's description:
This example is one of the few surviving cars with an aluminium body. No two cars are alike. In fact, the aluminium panels made for the original series would not even fit the later “mass-produced” 120 steel body, making them unique machines.
Our car was completed in February 1950 and delivered to the American Jaguar - importer Hoffmann in New York. Of course, the car was already built as left-hand drive from the factory. Later it is said to have belonged to a Jaguar enthusiast from the Los Angeles area. According to the Heritage certificate, the car was painted red when it was delivered and still has its original engine.
It has been with its last owner, here in Germany, for about 30 years. He acquired the car from the insolvency estate of a Swedish entrepreneur.
A few years ago the XK120 was restored by a German specialist.
This Jaguar is considered to be an extremely reliable and beautiful car. It can look back on numerous successful Rallye and Concours d Elegance participations over the past decades.

If Ed West (now deceased) was indeed involved in this car, buyer beware. Ed was of the Doc ilk. I knew Ed very well. I don't have info on this car but make sure to check the numbers if you are a buyer.

This car will be at auction Motorworld München

rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/mu22/munich/lots/r0036-1950-jaguar-xk-120-alloy-roads ...
Lot 124
1950 Jaguar XK 120 Alloy Roadster
€225,000 - €275,000 EUR
München, Germany
Chassis No. 670117
A charming example of Jaguar’s record-setting open-topped sports car
One of just 242 alloy bodied XK 120 Roadsters, and one of 184 built in left-hand drive
Finished in factory-correct Red, with a black leather interior
Accompanied by a JDHT certificate and selected workshop invoices
Chassis 670117 is one of those desirable alloy bodied cars. It was completed on 3 February 1950 and dispatched later that month to New York-based importer, Max Hoffman. As noted by its accompanying JDHT (Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust) certificate, the Jaguar was originally finished in Red over a Biscuit interior with complementary Fawn soft-top. The car was also equipped with a high-compression engine, though the original block has since been swapped with a later SE unit, while the cylinder head is of unknown origin. An invoice dated 2003 details an engine overhaul.
After leaving the US in the 1980s, the Roadster is thought to have spent time in Sweden prior to being bought by the consignor and exported to Germany. Its renewed condition would suggest an older restoration, claimed by the consignor to have taken place around 15 years ago. Today, the XK 120 presents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most special variants of Jaguar’s ground-breaking sports car.

I believe Mike May, above, refers to Doc's Jags, Phoenix, Arizona. Doc went bankrupt in 2011 and it was found that some parts had been switched from one car to another, some folks did not recover their car with all of its components. I'll add this comment from a non Jaguar forum "Good riddance! Worst automotive experience Ive had in 25 years was with Doc Scadron. Shortly after, BBB banned him, JCNA did likewise." For those of you outside the USA the BBB is the Better Business Bureau.

Auction description:
Sale Rétromobile 2023 - 03 february 2023 /Lot 95
1950 Jaguar XK 120 roadster aluminium
Estimation 175,000 - 225,000 €
German title
Chassis No 670117
- Extremely rare aluminium version
- Beautiful old restoration
- Original red colour
Out of the factory on 3 February 1950, this particular aluminium XK 120 was in red colour with biscuit upholstery and a tan soft top, as stated on the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate included in the file. It was exported to the United States by New York importer Max Hoffman; its history across the Atlantic is not known but, it would have emerged in Sweden in the late 1980s and would have got caught in a wave of bankruptcies, subsequent to the termination of business activities relating to one of the most important collectors of that era. Along with other cars, it would have been used as a payment solution for the work the current owner's father carried out within the bankrupt company.
These cars were then imported to Germany where some were sold and others carefully stored, including this XK 120 roadster. The restoration was probably undertaken in Dusseldorf just under twenty years ago; as the owner died two years ago, this car represents a part of his legacy. It was originally fitted with a high-compression engine, later replaced by a more modern SE engine and a cylinder head of which we do not know its origin. This car is in very good condition and represents a great opportunity to acquire a rare version of the roadster that made Jaguar famous.

Excellent workmanship, but many ‘cosmetic’ inaccuracies. (I don’t mean some of the underbonnet mods.)

Auction description:
Sale Le Mans Classic 2023 - 30 june 2023 /Lot 113 1950 Jaguar XK 120 roadster aluminium
German title
Chassis No 670117
- Extremely rare aluminium version
- Beautiful old restoration
- Original red colour
- Recently inspected by Guy Broad
The first Jaguar XK 120 cars were produced by hand, with an aluminium bodywork on a wooden structure. 242 examples were manufactured, including 184 of them in left-hand drive.
Out of the factory on 3 February 1950, this particular aluminium XK 120 was in red colour with biscuit upholstery and a tan soft top, as stated on the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate included in the file. It was exported to the United States by New York importer Max Hoffman. The history in the USA is not known until the car shows up with XK collector Tony Amos in Ohio and later to another well-known collector, Terry Larssen of Arizona in 1989. It is exported to Sweden in the early 90s. It became part of the current German owner's father's collection a few years later.
The car has recently had a thorough inspection carried out by UK XK expert Guy Broad who confirmed its authenticity.
According to Mr Broad the chassis is 100% original and both chassis stampings are correct. The panel work is of original manufacture, it retains its original factory welds and the construction is exactly as it should be on an alloy car. The front wings, bonnet, doors, rear scuttle and boot lids are specific to an alloy version confirming its authenticity.
It has the unique seat frames, windscreen pillars, bonnet hinges, petrol filler cap, gearbox tunnel cover, boot lid hinges, all this is particular original alloy cars. So body and chassis are original to chassis 670117.
The car was re commissioned, repainted and re-upholstered in Dusseldorf just under twenty years ago. As the owner passed away two years ago, this car represents a part of his estate. It was originally fitted with a high-compression engine, later replaced by a more modern SE engine. This car is in very good condition and represents a great opportunity to acquire a rare version of the roadster that made Jaguar famous.
