Hi there, until ca. 1952 "Pastel Blue" was always metallic, as you probably are aware of? (The ZOFELAC paints)
(can you please change the colour on www.xkdata.com, I know the build sheet will only say "Pastel Blue", it's not what is says, but when it said what that matters)

Nice project you've got there. Cheers!

Following description provided at:
www.classicautosports.com/Work_in_Progress.htm

1950 Alloy bodied XK120, chassis number 670120, We found this car in Texas alongside XK120 670003, the Clark Gable car. It was originally supplied early in 1950 to the famous American motoring journalist Henry N Manney and has an interesting history. Our intention is to rebuild it back to its original Pastel Blue with Duo tone upholstery.

For the "hood" (top) Jaguar only offered three colours in 1950 "Dark Sand", "Black" and "French Grey", the latter is ofter mistaken for something like "fawn" it is very light and very little grey. Of course if the JDHT/JDT cerificate says "fawn" then it's another matter.

I saw this car behind Ed (?) Lake (raced a red XK think it was #40) home in LA in a visit researching for restoration of #660111. The car was completely disassembled. I have a few photos.

Peter, he might have meant to say 670111 (not 660111) since he posts under that car something about having "photographs and cost bills"

Yes have now established 660120 in Quennsland Australia with Frank Chew

in my stuff I have a pair of alloy spats, punched 62, very probably originally fitted on this car ( they are numbered on body )They came from US, Mid-West area.

I am searching for 1 original spat punched 98, originally red, missing on my car, originally licensed in California ( I have 1 only fitted ).

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
