    Ebay item 11/23/05
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK-120-OTS-1950-JAGUAR-XK-120-OTS-ninth-steel-roa ...
Current bid $10,400.00 (Reserve not met), 5 bids, 4 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
You are bidding on a very early XK 120 Jaguar OTS (open two seater). Car number 670193 is perhaps one of the 2 or 3 oldest steel bodied roadsters in existence. The car has been in dry storage for the last 11 years. The numbers on the original serial plate match the numbers on the frame and body. The engine numbers do not match and it appears to be a unit from an XK 140. The chassis is very solid especially above the rear axle area where they normally have problems. This car needs a total restoration. I would be happy to restore this car for the high bidder or will sell it outright. I have won national JCNA first prizes twice. The car comes with a mountain of parts. It is missing the radiator, gas tank and seat frames. The bonnet is from an XK 140. In short I feel this car has great potential as the basis for a truly wonderful example of one of the great sportscars of all time.

In May 2007 the car, completed with proper parts, was purchased by an italian
120 enthusiast, and will start a complete restoration.

Restoration in progress, ready spring 2009. Some new panels from Leaping Cats, working for concourse restoration.
Surely one of the very first steel 120
    surviving, even not the first.

I imported this car several years ago, then I sold it and it was seeming the owner ready to completely restore it , but later I knew it was only dismantled, and probably now it could be for sale.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
