Ebay item 3/2/11 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1950-Jaguar-XK-120-Roadster-BRG-Rare-early-example-/2005 ...
Car has a buy it now price of $52,500 for 20 days.
Sellers description:
1950 Jaguar XK 120 Roadster. British Racing Green with Green interior. According to the Jaguar Production record Trace Certificate which I just obtained, see a copy of this in the photo section of this listing. Serial number 670268 was built May 10th 1950, fitted with body number F 1342 and the original color is the current color of Green as well as the original interior color of Green, the top was listed as being French Grey now it is black. The original distributor was Hoffman in New York. The date of despatch is list as being June 15th 1950
At some point in the past(before the current owner purchased the car in 1968) the car was professionally fitted with an XK 140 engine serial number G249985 and what I believe is an XK140 transmission. The motor was gone thru 10 years ago. I do not know where the original engine is. The car comes with Softtop, side curtains, tonneau cover, spare tire. Same owner since 1968. Odometer shows 20,137 miles. Car runs well, feels good on the road, very solid underneath. This car is in driver condition, it has various nicks, scratches, chips and some small dents. It is the right color, it makes the right noise. In my opinion these cars represent one of the greatest values in an open 1950's sports car and this example while not perfect, is perfect to take out and really enjoy without worrying about. A great value at $52,500.
Car is located in the northwestern corner of Connecticut about 75 miles north of New York City.

This is a serious request. On my bucket list I written that I would like to drive a Jaquar XK 140. How much would you charge to let me do this? OR...do you know of anyone else with one that would accomodate me on this? I am not interested in actually owning one. Just one afternoon of bliss!
Thanks, Jana

Car to be at auction 7/16:
www.artcurial.com/en/asp/fullCatalogue.asp
Auction description:
Artcurial Motorcars - Le Mans Classic Sale 2016 | Le Mans, 09 July
German registration
Chassis n° 670268
- High quality restoration
- Only four owners
- Superb, original colour combination
This car was one of the first steel-bodied XK120s to leave the factory, on 10 May 1950. Delivered on 15 June 1950 to Max Hoffman, the importer in New York, the car was sold in August 1950 to the 25-year old Prince Ivan Obolensky, grandson of John Jacob Astor, the wealthiest man to travel on the Titanic. In 1968 it was bought by the American actor Gerrit Graham, who was 18 years old. This Jaguar was his first car and he kept it for 43 years, until 2011. According to him, there was only one owner between Obolensky and him. At some point the car was fitted with an engine with a C-type head.
The current owner bought the car in 2011 and threw himself into a full, no-expense spared restoration, stripping the body to bare metal. He employed the best specialists and ensured that the original specification was retained. A small modification was made to the seals of the lubrification system, to prevent the oil leaks that XK120s are prone to. The work totalled around 120 000 €, and books made about the history and restoration of the car reveals the extraordinary extent of the work carried out. Today, the car is as new.
The Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirms that the colour of the body (suede green), the hood (French grey) and the upholstery (suede green) correspond to the original specification, as do the numbers for the gearbox and body. The car comes with period tools and a large painting of the car (240 x 120 cm) painted by an architect friend of the owner. Classic Data experts have attributed the rare note " 1 " and the car took part in the prestigious Schloss Dyck concours d'élégance in Germany in 2014.
In its beautiful green shade and with its limited number of owners, this roadster is without any doubt one of the most desirable model available on the market.
