This sounds like the Gary Cooper Car, he had an early steel car with a louvered hood also, do you know who owned it?

this is indeed the Gary Cooper car as shown in his daughter's book, does have hood louvers and deleted fender skirts with wire wheel conversion and light colored steering wheel, Heritage Certificate does show it sold in Hollywood by Hornburg Jaguar

No. I have that book and certainly the edition I have does not show
hood louvers and deleted fender skirts with wire wheel conversion on the Gary Cooper XK120

I just read this book and the caption right below the picture does indeed say that her father, Gary Cooper, did add hood vents to this car to improve the cooling, see page 122, car does look like it has white steering wheel, who claims to have the Gary Cooper car? I saw it advertised back in the mid 60's and it did indeed have the rear spats removed and wire wheel conversion

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
