The original interior color as is and indicated on the JDHT Certificate is
biscuit & tan. It is not possible in your form above to enter this correct specification. Pls correct this fault!

I corrected the interior color after I talked to Urs Schmid

The first owner was a medical doctor from Pennsilvania who served in Germany and drove it there. In 1957 it was bought by Captain (USAF) Howard C. Taber of Purcellville Va. I saw the car first in 1975 and could buy it many years later on April 5th 1989 from his widow Shirley R. Taber with only 32' 500 original miles.
Participant to the Jabbeke 50th Anniversary Celebration and speed trial 28 - 30th May 1999, featured extensively in Urs Schmid's book "Jaguar XK120-The Anatomy of a Cult Object".

Sellers description:
Here is a rare opportunity to purchase one of the few all original XK 120.
The forerunner of the Jaguar post-war sports cars in noble bronze metallic has a nitrocellulose finish that was only used up until 1952. It was not without reason that the exceptionally original witness of the time, Urs Schmid, chose to write about this car in his monumental work "XK 120 - The Anatomy of a Cult Object".
Behind its steering wheel awaits an incomparable driving experience, wich only an unrestored vehicle can provide. No restored car can run as smooth and quiet as an original vehicle. Its aura is clearly different than that of the many restored cars, ans makes the heart of any enthusiast beat faster. Provide with this unique vehicle is of course also its comprehensive biography.

I dated Howard Taber's daughter in college around 1986. Saw this car collecting dust in the old barn at the Taber farm. Shirley wouldn't even talk about selling it then. Of course I was a poor college kid with no money anyway.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
