This is a matching numbers XK120 with the Jaguar Heritage certificate. It is a prime example of the era, and is certainly a rare find. Here is what we have learned about the car.

This numbers matching California original Jaguar with 53,160 miles showing on the odometer has been refreshed in a stunning cream over cream color combination, with maroon piping and maroon soft-top and side curtains. To give you an idea of how well this XK120 runs, the previous owner drove it from Arizona to Northern California in 2014, where it was featured in events during the week of the Pebble Beach Concours d Elegance. Again, in 2015 he drove it from Arizona to Southern California, where it became part of the BlueChip Motorcars fleet of classics. This particular XK120 was also a featured exhibitor at the 2015 6th Annual Greystone Mansion Concours dElegance in Beverly Hills, California.

Additionally, this XK120 was ordered with unique chrome options, which were not available in the later XK120 models. To compliment these original accessories, BlueChip Motorcars holds the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, which authenticates the originality of this true surviving Jaguar. Lastly, the owners manual factory technical manual, a tonneau cover, wind deflector wing windows, and a side curtain storage bag accompany the car.

This 50 XK120 with VIN 670830 sports a beautifully maintained 3.4-liter, 160-bhp six-cylinder DOHC engine with the four-speed automatic. It is a steel bodied car, although this 1950 XK120 retained aluminum doors, bonnet and boot lid. All XK120s featured independent torsion bar front suspension, semi-elliptic leaf springs at the rear, recirculating ball steering, telescopically adjustable steering column and all-around 12-inch drum brakes.

As an interesting side note, the XK120 was the first car to ever exceed 100 mph for 7 days and 7 nights, covering a total of 16,852 miles. Incidentally, it was co-driven by none other than Sir Stirling Moss OBE.

With its well-documented heritage, stunning good looks, perfect driving manners and reputation for quality, this XK120 is fit for aficionado ready for a season of grand open air touring. Titled as a 1952 Jaguar.

This 1950 Jaguar XK120 roadster is said to have been purchased new by a US service member in Dusseldorf, Germany before being subsequently brought to California. It is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six and is finished in cream over white leather upholstery. Equipment includes a removable red soft top, 16″ body-color steel wheels, four-wheel drum brakes, dual SU carburetors, fender-mounted mirrors, rear fender skirts, and Smiths instrumentation. A cosmetic refreshment was performed in 2014, which consisted of a repaint and reupholstering the interior. The car was acquired by the current owner in March 2022, and a replacement four-speed manual transmission was installed and the carburetors rebuilt in preparation for the sale. This XK120 is now offered by the seller on behalf of its owner with various service manuals, photos from the refresh, notes from prior owners outlining previous history, the removed factory transmission, a tool kit, spare parts, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

The car is finished in cream and was repainted following the completion of body work in 2014. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles, approximately 35 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 3.4-liter inline-six features dual overhead camshafts and twin SU carburetors that were reportedly rebuilt in preparation for the sale.

A replacement four-speed manual transmission was installed in preparation for the sale. The removed gearbox accompanies the vehicle.
