The first post-war show held in England opened on October 27, 1948. No one was prepared for the shock of the presentation on the Jaguar stand of a slim bronze-colored roadster, the XK 120.

The car presented leaving the factory on February 7, 1951 and was sold new by the Royal Elysées establishments. It was then Old English White with a red and biscuit leather interior.

In 1985 it underwent a first repair and was then repainted in red with black leather upholstery. Later bought by a famous collector, it regained its original color in 2000 after a complete restoration from the chassis. The bodywork as well as the engine, the gearbox, the clutch and the electric harness were completely redone according to the rules of the art. It was in 2004 that it entered the collection of its current owner who took the greatest care of it. This rare XK 120 called “early” because it is one of the very first versions in steel body has matching numbers. It is also equipped with a stainless steel exhaust and an electric fan.

Sold new in France by the Établissements Royal Elysees, this Jaguar XK 120 that we are offering belonged to a Parisian collector before being sold in 2006 to the current owner, an important collector of Jaguars and member of the Jaguar Enthusiasts club de France. He wanted to prepare this car for rallying and at the same time to use it regularly without problems. He entrusted the job to the garage Sontrop, renowned specialists based in Bourgogne. Between 2006 and 2012, they carried out a thorough refurbishment of the car, including the following: a total repair of the engine and the carburetors, the brake system and the gearbox were overhauled and the exhaust system is new. The accessories were removed and the car was completely repainted. The entire project totaled an amount of 65,000, the corresponding invoices are in the file coming with the car. The car is equipped with a Tripmaster, two "Brooklands Aeroscreens" and the bonnet is retained with leather straps. The black leather interior has a beautiful patina and the "Old English White" color goes perfectly well with the elegant line.
This is an early version with steel bodywork, still powered by its original engine and has had a beautiful restoration, which makes it particularly desirable in the eyes of the true enthusiast.
