Car to be at Coy's auction 4/10
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php
Auction description:
1951 Jaguar XK120 Roadster
Lot 271
Registration Number: EU Registered
Chassis Number: 671252
The car on offer here today is an early Roadster which was delivered via the Overseas Motor Car Co in St. Petersburg, Florida to its first owner, a Mr HP Worline.
The present Italian owner has had the car for almost 30 years, during which it was entrusted to the well-known Italian Jaguar expert Adriano Nicodemi for a full restoration. The paint color was beautifully finished in old English White, while the car’s blue interior was retained. The car has completed less than 1000 km since this restoration but has been well maintained and run on a regular basis to ensure that it remains in good mechanical shape. It is hard to find an early matching numbers Jaguar in this lovely original condition with its elegant disc wheels and rear spats. Available for the price of its restoration only, this would make an ideal car for continental touring.
Estimate: €70000 - €85000

badly restored as per front -lower -line not correctly straight and not slightly bended only at edges as it should be.
In these LHD cars engine's bay should be black. In the engine bay passenger's side, some things are missing ( as per the holes to carry some wires and water temperature sensor tube). What can we say of a similar restoration ? Average ? Medium or low ? And we are talking from a first look at few poor pictures . . . .

In these year model, we can say early 120s, we can say surely to the end of 1951 and more, the wiring coming out the spark's plugs MUST be directed to rear side and arrive unseen to the distributor by under the side of engine's head to the horizontal and not vertical "head " of distributor.
It is basic during restoration the difference beetween early 120s and late 120s.
