This 1951 Jaguar XK120 is a left-hand-drive roadster that was purchased by the current owner in 1999 after undergoing a cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment reportedly completed in the early 1990s. Finished in red over black leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six equipped with dual SU carburetors and mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a folding black soft top, a split windshield, chrome bumpers, Smiths instrumentation, body-color rear-wheel spats, and 16″ steel wheels. This XK120 was awarded a National First Prize in 1992 from the Antique Automobile Club of America, and it is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner in Washington State with a clean Montana title in the name of the owner’s LLC.
The car was repainted in red during the refurbishment under prior ownership, and the replacement black soft top is shown raised in the gallery below. Additional exterior features include a split windshield, chrome front bumpers and rear bumperettes, fender-mounted mirrors, and rear-wheel spats. A badge from the Antique Automobile Club of America is affixed to the front bumper and indicates the car earned a National First Prize in the Senior class in 1992.
Color-matched 16″ steel wheels with chrome Jaguar-branded hubcaps are mounted with older Coker Classic wide-whitewall tires, and a matching spare is stowed in the trunk. The car is equipped with four-wheel drum brakes.
The cabin was refurbished during prior ownership and features black leather upholstery and red piping on the seats, door panels, and padded dashboard.
Centralized Smiths instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer and a reverse-sweep tachometer as well as an ammeter and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel and oil level. The five-digit odometer shows 44k miles, less than 500 of which have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six features polished camshaft covers and painted exhaust manifolds and is equipped with dual SU carburetors. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. Recent service is said to have included performing an oil change and adjusting the carburetors.
Engine stamping W3601-8 is shown above and matches the number listed on the under-hood identification plate.
The Montana title carries a “classic” brand.
