Same owner since 1975. Car was found derelict in a soybean field. When found was fitted with Vertex magneto ignition and headlight nacelles & windshield were removed for "streamlining" as car was used in dirt track racing locally in early - mid 1960's. Many features of an early car including no turn signals, front brake cooling vents, oil level guage, dipstick for differntial, glass & brass brake fluid reservior, etc.
Restored over a period of 10 years. Driven regularly and in a spirited manner. Young guys (in their tricked Hondas)envious of the sound from my dual exhausts!

This 1952 Jaguar XK120 is a left-hand-drive roadster that was built on November 21, 1951 and dispatched to Los Angeles, California distributor Charles Hornburg. The car reportedly spent time in New York before it was acquired as a non-running project by the seller out of southern Ohio in 1975. A C-type cylinder head was subsequently installed to bring the car to running condition, while a restoration was later carried out by the Antique Auto Shop of Kentucky in 1991 including mechanical refreshment, rust repair, and a repaint in Bronze Metallic. Power is supplied by a 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six coupled with a four-speed manual gearbox, and maintenance performed this year consisted of brake work, an oil change, and rebuilding the steering box. This XK120 is now offered with service records, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

Originally finished in Cream, the body was reportedly removed from the frame and repainted Bronze Metallic in 1991. The work is said to have involved rust repair and front-end bodywork, and the current finish is shown up close along with detailed images of the Lucas headlights, taillights, and trim. Noted imperfections include scratches behind the seats and a paint crack below the grille.

Body-color 16” steel wheels wear polished and painted hubcaps and Firestone tires. Photos of the tan canvas top, side curtains, and black tonneau cover are shown. According to the seller, the steering box was rebuilt and the brakes were serviced earlier this year.

The interior features Biscuit leather seats with lap belts, matching door panels, and lighter carpets. A factory four-spoke steering wheel is retained, and a fire extinguisher is mounted under the dashboard.

Instrumentation includes a centrally mounted 140-mph speedometer and a counterclockwise 6k-rpm tachometer. More than 65k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, approximately 2,500 of which reportedly were added during the seller’s 43-year ownership. True mileage is unknown.

The 3.4L twin-cam inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and a replacement C-type cylinder head. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. An oil change was completed this year per the seller.

A Falcon stainless-steel twin-outlet exhaust system has been installed. Additional photos showing the underbody and the brakes are provided in the gallery below.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate displays a build date of November 21, 1951 and lists the original colors as Cream over a Biscuit and Red interior with a Sand top.
