Seller's description:
This stunning Jaguar XK120 Roadster was built on the 24th of March of 1952 and the date of dispatch was April 23rd of 1952. The original distributor was Hornburg in Los Angeles, USA and the original dealer was British Car Sales in Tacoma, Washington. This wonderful 1952 Jaguar XK120 previously underwent a comprehensive restoration in its original color combination of British Racing Green with Tan interior. We purchased this matching numbers car (as per the Jaguar Heritage Certificate) from the previous owner of the past 20 plus years. As we understand the Jaguar presented here spent most of its life on the west coast until it came to North Carolina a few years ago. The car also comes with a tan canvas soft top, matching side curtains, plexiglass wind wings and tan tonneau cover. Furthermore, this exquisite Jaguar comes with records going back to 1998. Some of the more recent notable work performed during this time but not limited to as as follows:
• The front brakes were converted/upgraded to disc brakes.
Rear brake cylinders replaced.
New brake master cylinder.
New cooling hose kit installed.
Cylinder head gasket replaced.
Cylinder head rebuilt.
Gear reduction starter installed.
New water pump installed.
• Vredstein tires installed at 12,238 miles (current
odometer reading is 13,370).
• An auxiliary cooling fan was installed.
Pinion seal replaced.
Rebuilt duel temperature and oil pressure gauge with
new thermostat.
Upper control arm bushings and lower ball joints
replaced.
• Aluminum radiator expansion tank installed.
New porcelain manifolds installed.
Stainless steel sport exhaust system installed.
Overall this is a wonderful higher level driver/show car. This car is an incredible driving experience. The note from the exhaust sounds amazing. It runs and drives exceptional and very tight. The oil pressure and compression are both excellent. The brakes feel great as does the clutch and gearbox. She holds temperature great due to the numerous cooling upgrades installed. All gauges and lights work as they should. There is no rust anywhere on this Jaguar and the frame rails, inner rockers, battery box and trunk floor are all solid. In addition, the body is straight with no door sag or misalignment. The car presents very well with excellent paint and bright work. This Jaguar XK120 is ready to go to be enjoyed.
