Finished in green with black interior this car was prepared for the well known BRDC driver Alan Minshaw some years ago. It is seriously upgraded for fast road use incorporating a 4.2 litre engine with triple Webers powered through an all synchro four speed gearbox with overdrive. The specification includes, bucket seats, special dash, konis, discs all around, competition wheels with radials, alloy tank, oil cooler etc., and track/race mandatory installations. The car drives extremely well and has just competed in the Silverstone Classic celebrating 60 years of XK racing with a special commemorative plaque confirming its participation.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
