Opening bid $80,825.00 (Reserve not met), no bids yet, 8 days left in auction. Auction is based in St. Louis, Missouri.

Sellers description:
1953 JAGUAR XK120 ROADSTER
SAME OWNER FOR OVER 50 YEARS
ORIGINAL DOCUMENTED BLACK PLATE CALIFORNIA CAR
BEST COLOR COMBINATION
RECENT RESTORATION
Finished in classic and desired all Black with beautiful new Black interior and matching convertible top. This exquisite 120 Roadster has had the same owner for over 50 years. It has always been in the state of California. Recent restoration include; show quality paint, all new interior, new top, professionally rebuilt engine. Accompanying this motorcar is its original tool roll, original air pump, original jack, original owners manual (not a replacement copy) original factory service manual, original side curtains as well as a new replacement set and more! This is among what I believe to be one of the finest original unmolested 120 Roadsters available anywhere! It has had no accident repair or rust and comes with its original California black plate. For all of you not familiar this indicates that it has been a California car since new. As the story goes and was told to me, Mr. Timmerman, the last owner for over 50 years traded his XK120 in for a 55 Thunderbird. He immediately realized that the Thunderbird was under powered and traded it back the same day for this 2 year old XK120 Roadster, and has owned the car ever since. He has taken meticulous care of it and has serviced it and preserved it beautifully. It is among one of the most original examples on the market today. To find a California 120 Roadster in this condition, history, documentation and color combination is nearly unheard of. For the true investor, enthusiast or collector bid with confidence this might be one of the best investments of your lifetime!

Current bid $25,100 reserve not met, 7 bids 9 days left in auction. Car now located in Sonoma, California.

Sellers description:
1952 Jaguar XK120 was purchased new in San Francisco in 1953. It enjoyed one-owner until 1955 when it was traded in at Tunnel Lincoln Mercury located in Oakland, California in 1955. The second owner, Alfred Trimmer, remained the second owner until 2005. It was then purchased by a dealer in the Midwest then sold to its third owner back here in the Bay Area almost immediately. When the soon to be 3rd owner had the car inspected they were amazed that there was no rust anywhere, ever! The body was free of filler as well. This was all confirmed when it was later stripped to bare metal for the repaint. This owner recently completed a beautiful frame-on restoration of this rare and incredibly well preserved classic cat. It is believed that the 64K+ miles showing are the actual miles. The car was thoroughly gone through and we will be happy to provide records upon request. Al components are numbers matching with exception to the head which has been replaced. Heritage certification is shown below. Here is just a short, basic list of what was done to the car:

New Paint, Stripped To Bare Metal
Fully Rebuilt Engine
New Wiring Harness
New Fuel Pump
All New Body Rubber
New Leather Interior
New Wilton Wool Carpet
New Cloth Top
New Correct Bias Ply Tires
Rebuilt Carburetors
Fully Rebuilt Cooling System
All New Front/Rear Suspension
New Bushings, Joints, Etc.

This car was restored to use and it drives fantastic! It is tight and responsive and very comfortable. Most of the restoration work was done by Jaguar veteran’s at Steve Gordon’s Vintage Auto Service, known as one of the best shops on the west coast.

I purchased this car from Brad Goldstone through Exclusive Motor Cars and British Sports Cars in March of this year. I can attest to it's fantastic condition and how great a driver it is. It is my second XK120 in the last 5 years and is more enjoyable to drive than my previous former Pebble Beach participant. I do not plan to ever sell it as I doubt I could find a more original and reliable example. These cars are greatly undervalued. They revolutionized the sports car world when introduced and begat the Corvette, the Austin-Healey and the idea of an affordable high performance sports car many could afford. They still are the most affordable high performance car of their era. A 300SL is 600k+, a Ferrari 340 800k+, a Cunningham 700k+, and Allard 400K+, well you get the picture.

Sellers description:
Very nice 1952 Jaguar XK120 that we have known and serviced for several years. This is a very solid, no-nonsense car that shows no signs of accident damage or rust. While most of these cars suffer from rust and accident damage that has been poorly repaired over the years, this car shows no signs of any of that. The engine is rebuilt and runs fantastic. This is one of the nicest-driving XK120s you will ever experience. The upholstery is all fully restored and very well done, which we rarely see. It is all done using the correct materials and looks fantastic. The car also comes with a cloth convertible top and tonneau cover that are in new condition. The paint and body is very nice, but does have a few marks as this car has been driven and enjoyed. This is one of the best XK120s you will ever find. You may find a fully-restored car that is concours-ready, but rarely will you find one as solid as this.
