For sale on e-bay 2009-03-10

Seller's description: This one owner 1953 Jaguar XK120 is an open 2 seater that was my dad's favorite daily driver thru the 50's and 60's - for the last 20 years it has been driven only occasionally in the summer. Since his passing in December of 2007, it has been in storage. While our family has treasured our time with it, we lack both the expertise and wherewithal to return it to the state that it deserves. The car is almost completely stock and is a great candidate for a full restoration. A true classic - it will be a great car for the someone who appreciates both the marque and the opportunity to provide stewardship to a legacy that began with the advent of the classic Jaguar designs of the post war era.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
