Ebay item 6/4/12 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Classified ad, asking $115,000. Car now said to be in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
Sellers description:
Stunning, numbers matching, Jaguar Heritage Trust certified XK120 Open Two Seater (Roadster.)
Meticulous, multi-thousand hour restoration on a documented original car. Restoration was chronicled in the JCNA magazine. Fully sorted, "on the button" performer that not only looks the part but drives like a proper Jaguar XK should. Since restoration it has been enjoyed for 5,000 miles insuring the next owner will have none of the "teething issues" that tend to plague lesser restored cars and trailer queens! This 120 pulls strong, has a smooth, quiet gearbox and uncharacteristically strong 2nd gear synchro, brakes straight and true, runs perfectly cool with its currently installed custom aluminum radiator and electric cooling fan (original concours radiator included also), and serenades its pilots with that magnificent ripping silk music only an XK Jag engine can deliver.
An added bonus is that this cat comes with not only its full original weather equipment but also a custom set of Brooklands windscreens on proper body colored aluminum cowlings and a short rear view mirror with cowling. So, if desired, you can change the entire look of the car and recreate "Soapy" Sutton's record-setting 1949 136.596 MPH top speed run with an early XK120 in similar windshield-less trim!
Unlike the commonly available 120's that have a myriad of hidden sins under shiny paint or are incapable of brisk motoring under their own power, this car is one that truly has great integrity and offers all the XK120 legend would suggest.
The chassis number is 673031, engine #W6332-8, Body #F5065. Per the Heritage Certificate, the car was manufactured on October 17th 1952. Dispatched to Charles Hornburg in Los Angeles on 28 October 1952. First owner Dr. H.N. Plears of Los Angeles.
This XK120 is located in my private showroom in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
