Sellers description:
1953 XK120 In Old English White with Biscuit Leather Interior
This Jaguar XK120 was a driver until put in storage for the past year. Previous to that, eight years ago the interior and exterior were restored, and the chrome replated. The glass and all the rubber is in good condition. I have just had a tender engine/mechanical restoration performed. The engine is clean and there is no smoke or oil leaks. It starts immediately with the push of either starter under the hood or on the dash. All gauges work appropriately. The interior (leather seats, dash, side panels and carpet) are in excellent condition; body is in excellent condition, paint job is superb with a few tiny chips; undercarriage has only a bit of surface rust, absolutely nothing structural. This is a very solid and well maintained XK120. Included is the manual, parts and labor receipts, the fifth wire wheel, and the soft top bows in excellent condition.
What follows is a semi-detailed list of the restoration just completed 8/1/06:
*battery boxes cleaned out, rust treated & painted, 2 new 6V batteries installed
*all fluids drained, lines cleaned, reservoirs cleaned, fluids replaced
*new oil, fuel, and air filters, new fuel pump
*new master cylinder
*carburetor disassembled, cleaned, reassembled, tuned
*new brake hoses, replaced wheel cylinders, reinstalled brake shoes
*new insulators and gaskets, new choke solenoid, new thermo switch
This rare and all original Jag is a collector’s item, for sure.
Previous auction ended at $28,100 reserve not met after 10 bids.
