This 1953 Jaguar XK120 roadster is said to have been refurbished under previous ownership and was reportedly acquired by the current owner’s father in 1997. The car is finished in gray over red upholstery and is powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes dual SU carburetors, 16″ steel wheels, fender-mounted side mirrors, removable wheel spats, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror. The seller reports the brakes were overhauled and the starter was replaced in preparation for the sale. This XK120 is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in gray and features a chrome split front bumper, rear bumperettes, fender-mounted side mirrors, and removable wheel spats. The seller states the black convertible top was replaced previously by cannot be stretched to fasten properly.
The 16″ steel wheels wear painted hubcaps and are mounted with 195/80 Bridgestone Ecopia EPO2 tires. The four-wheel drum brakes are said to have been overhauled in preparation for the sale. Corrosion is visible on the wheel trim rings.
The bucket seats are covered in red upholstery and are accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Appointments include Jaguar-logo floor mats, a passenger grab handle, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a red upholstered dashboard housing a central 140-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges. The speedometer gasket is loose and interferes with the indicator needle according to the seller. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 53k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline six features dual SU carburetors. The starter is said to have been replaced in preparation for the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

The car left the factory finished in Birch Grey and was refinished in its current shade as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. Equipment includes a chrome split front bumper, rear bumperettes, fender-mounted side mirrors, and removable wheel spats. The seller states the black convertible top was previously replaced but cannot be stretched to fasten properly. The majority of the photos in the gallery were taken in May 2023.
The cabin features bucket seats with red leather upholstery complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include a heater, a passenger-side grab handle, door map pockets, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror. Corrosion in the left door jamb is noted.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six features dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 160 horsepower. The heater core was repaired and the carburetors were synchonized in November 2022. Additional work completed at this time involved replacing the intake manifold gasket, water pump assembly, and the batteries and is shown in an invoice in the image gallery below.
A Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate lists factory colors and identification numbers. A tool roll will also accompany the car.
Otherwise same as above.
