Car to be at auction 10/08
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php

Auction description:
1952 Jaguar XK120 Roadster
Lot 181
Registration Number: EU taxes paid
Chassis Number: 673991
Chassis number 673991 was manufactured in 1952, and has recently been subjected to a full, painstaking rotisserie restoration to its current extremely high standard. All decorative items on the car were either re-chromed or replaced with correct new parts. The car has been repainted in British Racing Green with Dupont paint, after being sandblasted back to the bare metal. The hood has been replaced, along with an original-style rear window, and all original gauges on the car have been restored.
Mechanically, the car has been subjected to an equally high quality restoration, with the engine being totally overhauled with new pistons, reground crankshaft, new connecting rod and main bearings, new inlet and exhaust valves and guides, a new timing chain, and fully rebuilt carburettors. The gearbox has also been totally overhauled, with new bearings and seals fitted, together with a new clutch and pressure plate, and a brand new stainless steel exhaust system. The brakes have also benefited from re-machined brake drums, new brake shoes, new master cylinders, lines and hoses.
Coming complete with tonneau cover, wet weather gear, American registration papers and European taxes paid, this is a superb car and represents a unique opportunity to purchase an as new, road-ready XK120 which is absolutely ready to be enjoyed. Not to be missed by any enthusiast of these much-loved classic Jaguars.

Estimate: €45000 - €55000

yet another example of TATITIUPANDFLOGGIT :(..it is a PAIN to see another "high quality restoration" that is grossly incorrect. WHY?.. it dosen't cost anymore to do it right! Any enthuiast who knows what they are looking at will realise that it will require a lot of $$ to replace the incorrect items on this car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
