Opening bid $49,900, no bids yet, 3 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1953 Jaguar XK120 Roadster. An excellent driver. Older repaint on a solid body and frame. No significant rust. No known body damage. Doors fit well - no sagging. There was a vinyl kit installed on the seats many years ago and will need replacing with the proper leather. Rebuilt engine, steering mechanism, and brakes. This engine has a lot of "pep" and drives well with no skipping or misfiring, no smoke, and no knocking. The transmission shifts smoothly without noise. Front and rear brakes are restored to like-new condition. There is also a set of brand new leather "gaiters" for the springs in the trunk. The top frame is fine, but the canvas will need to be replaced. All glass is fine. Inspector reports that chassis, engine and transmission are matching. This report is available upon request.

There is some work that needs to be done yet on this car to bring it up fully to standards that this fine car deserves. Under-dash wiring is hanging loose, though all electrical systems work well. This will need tidying up. Buyer may want to replace the carpet, though the current carpet is clean and serviceable. The older white vinyl seat covers can be kept for a time, but will certainly need to be replaced eventually with the proper leather. The inspector reports that the car has an older repaint that is in good condition and that there is no noticeable damage, filler or modifications on the original chassis. The top frame is serviceable, but the canvas top will need replacing. No tonneau cover. Spoke wheels excellent.

Inspector reports the engine has been rebuilt and runs strong and clean.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
