The rest of the story tho somewhat redundant, from above at:
www.jcna.com/classifieds/main.php
1954 Jaguar XK 120 OTS LHD (despatched August 23, 1953). Highly maintained 57,640 mi original, VIN 674217. I purchased in August, 2004, in Branford, Ct. from the surviving spouse of an engineer and highly respected member of VSCCA and Jaguar Clubs. They purchased the car in June, 1962, when they first married and were the third owner for the next forty-two years.
In last four years and 1,700 mis of my ownership, I have added Bill Bassett restored top and side curtains, as well as new carpets, boot carpet, and tonneau. Additionally, I commissioned new stainless exhaust, Vredestein Sprints and tubes (5), rebuilt Moss box (John Esposito, Ct.), completely rebuilt braking system w/mild race linings (Mike DiCola, Valley Vintage, Hadley, MA), correct Radiomobile w/modern internals and Ipod capability (Alan Marchant, Vintage Wireless, England), and Lucas PF 700’s and 770’s. Silver, red leather and carpets, black hood. (Original color was Birch gray.) Beautiful chrome, very good paint, and detailed engine compartment. When I purchased it and today, I see no visible rust and believe the prior owner when she said that the car was barely ever in the rain. Original and complete, including original tools, jack, grease gun. Bakelite battery covers, and Smutty tire pump. 9.840 JANE Driver’s Class August , 2006 (prior to receiving side curtains). Last summer I had the front end rebuilt and aligned (Daigle’s, Springfield).
Very strong and dependable motor car. Runs at 85 mph like it is on rails. No wobbles, shakes, doesn’t miss a beat. Detailed inspection welcomed. $83,500.
