Great set of matching numbers. The car was built 1953 November

I purchased the car from Jane Wolf in May of 2011; she and her husband get credit for the beautiful concours restoration done on it. It was 95% complete, with 1/4 mile on it, when I purchased it. Their goal was to restore it and then show it but Warren passed away at an early age before the car was completed.
The previous owner was Keith Boudrie of Maple Plain MN. Keith purchased the car 35+ years from CO. He began restoring it but never finished it. He completed the chassis, and drive train and then the car was sold to Warren and Jane. Keith did an exceptional job on what he did matching the concours quality done by Warren and Jane.
The car was purchased new by William Kurtz out of Grand Junction Co. When I purchased it I spoke to William who was in his early 90's at the time. He still had some of the original sales documentation including the original Sales Receipt which I now have with the car. There may or may not have been an owner in between William and Keith. As of today, 5/4/16, the car only has about 1,200 miles on it; I've just used it for show and driving within 20 miles of my home on very dry and sunny days; it's never seen rain. I put on the fog lamps, stayfast tonneau cover, floor mats, seat belts, and a few other very minor things. I've had many classic Jaguars in my life and have done well in the concours circuit so I know how to spell consours backwards. My 61 E-type Flat Floor, that I had for 23 years and sold in 2015, was one of the finest cars in the market. It was stunning.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
