Ebay item 5/15/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Car has a buy it now price of $75,000 for 5 days.

Sellers description:
In 1975 I had a man offer to trade one for my beautiful1932 Bentley,Mann-Egerton Sport Salon. The Jag was a 120 SE Roadster( Dual exaust, wire wheels and sport suspension) and was the top model of my long time dream car. It was beautiful and I made the deal as quick as I could and have enjoyed driving it ever since.
Initially I replaced the leather seat with new Conley hides (ordering an extra in case they ever needed repair) along with new carpets, top and tontau cover that are on it today. The white paint is the same as when I got it with a nice patina and a beautiful shine.
Thuough the years I made upgrades for increased performance and safety as I saw fit always keeping the original parts which will go with the car. I put seat belts in it and a set of later model Jag 15" wire wheels with radial tires. In 2000 I had a high preformance (and rare) factory "C" head #8330-85 installed. It has an electric fan in addition to the original fan with an overflow recovery tank hidden under the left front fender. I had the original points and rotor replaced with a electronic ignation. It never overheats or needs water added and starts perfectly. The newer ,wider wheels with modern radial tires enhance the breaking and handling immensely. I have kept the original 16" painted wire wheels with bias ply tire which can be slipped right on if the original look is desired.
Just recently I was dirrected to the Jaguar Cars Archives to obtain the factory build record and get a Heritige Certificate. This will be added to the information on the car as soon as it arrives.
This is a beautiful car and attracts much interest. When I was living in California I was asked to put it in photo shoots parades and moves/tv. The Sam Shephard Story with George Peppard and 2 Columbo series with Peter Faulk are two things I remember. I have been enjoying this unusually dependable, fast, smooth car for many years. I will really miss this car.
Sincerely , Ray Van Wagner

Aloha, My name is Pat Patterson, I am a good friend of Ray Wagners and am helping him sell this car here on e-bay. I am a vintage car guy and have owned and restored many classic British roadsters, IE, E-Types, Triumphs, Lotus, TVR, and on and on. I am 52 and am not inclined to exagerate a vehicles condition. I have gone over this car with a fine tooth comb and I took all the pictures for Ray. This is a very very strong driver. It could easily be a top show car with a modest investment. The car is straight rust free and never been tapped. It runs out strong, pulls hard through the upper RPM band and goes straight down the road and stops straight. It is nice enough to take to local car shows and win and not so nice you have to view it from behind a glass bubble.

Car to be at auction 8/10
www.russoandsteele.com/collector-car/1954-Jaguar-XK-120-S-E/5627

Auction description:
Consignment # 7082
VIN: 675650
Finished in the same white paint as when the vendor acquired it 35 years ago, this 1954 XK120SE is resplendent in this classic look over a beautiful red interior. An extra matching hide in the same grain is included. The car runs excellently with a correct-replacement factory performance C-Type cylinder head; the original numbers-matching head conveys with the car. The original 16" painted wire wheels as well as a second set of fifteen-inch Jaguar chrome wires with radial tires convey as well. The car boasts an improved cooling system with a hidden overflow tank mounted beneath the fender as well as a 2nd electric fan with a switch for slow traffic situations. Additional improvements include an electronic ignition system fitted to the car's original distributor prevents starting and driveability issues. The result of these non-permanent upgrades make this XK120 a very dependable, fun to drive car with excellent handling that's ready to enjoy.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
