    At online Auction selling 7/25/2017

    bringatrailer.com/listing/1954-jaguar-xk120-roadster-2/

This 1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster was completely restored in 2004 and is powered non-original 3.4L XK120SE engine that has been fitted with a C-Type cylinder head. The second owner commissioned the restoration, and the selling dealer acquired the car from its third owner about a year ago. Originally finished in black over red, this example was repainted in British Racing Green and fitted with a black interior during the restoration. In preparation for the sale, the seller had the gearbox re-sealed and performed an oil change. This XK120 is now being offered in Texas with a clean Florida title.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
