Sellers description:
1954 Jaguar XK 120 DHC - $125,000
I bought the Jaguar from an older gentleman about 20 years ago and at that time it was an 1980's restoration. I enjoyed it until last year when I had it professionally restored to exact standards. It is a very fine and beautiful car in excellent condition throughout. I'm selling this one to have a 1951 roadster restored. $125,000.

Additional description from above auction:
This example has been treated to a full restoration showing excellent mechanics, smooth and properly aligned body panels in dove grey, this is car is sure to win awards. Adding to the sparkling appearance are the factory chrome wire wheels with knock-off hubs wearing understated blackwall tires. With the taut black top up, the passenger are comforted in supple burgundy seats and car view the restored solid walnut wood-faced dashboard only offered in the DHC models, whose gauges appear to be as nice as when they were produced 61 years ago. In the boot, the spare tire is neatly stored and includes copies of maintenance manual and factory "spares" catalog as well as original tools. Our consignor who has owned a number of XK's, said the smoothness of operation, down to the transmission, is the best he has ever seen for the "120" family.

This 1954 Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe is a stunning presentation in Dove Gray with a black convertible top and boot highlighted with chrome wire wheels mounted on period-correct 16-inch Pirelli Cinturato tires. The interior is a deep burgundy leather with matching Wilton-wool carpet complemented by a rich burled-walnut dashboard and window sills. This drophead coupe was Jaguar's luxury open-air offering of the period and stood in contrast to the more spartan roadster model. It featured a padded and lined convertible top, roll-up side windows and a windshield frame that was an integral part of the body--as opposed to a bolt-on windshield of the roadster. It would be difficult to find a more tasteful example of a Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe from this bygone era. This beauty comes with its original tools, maintenance manual and a factory spares catalog.
