This is my car...The color is Pastel Blue Metallic and the interior is Duo-Blue. It is currently the earliest FHC in North America registered by JDHT. I drive it all summer long to events, rallies and tours...JANE's Tour of Nova Scotia in 2006 for example. It has won many awards at car shows, including British Invasion, Lime Rock Vintage Festival, British Car Day at LAAM, JANE concours, etc. It has some unusual features like "high-hat' carbs, Mk V sidelights (1st 42 FHC's had these) and rubber shims between body and chassis (1st 535 FHC's had these). It is a gorgeous car.

While 679002 claims to be in Nevada but is hotly disputed I also have 679011 in Kingston Pennsylvania with Larry Springer. I believe it is in bits so you do have the first complete and running example

Re question about previous owners...I purchased the car from David Laughton of Coventry Classic Cars in Urbanna, VA, in 1995. Prior owners registered the car in VA and MD. Missing information between 1952 and 1962. According to JDHT, the first owner was not registered and Hornburg Jaguar in LA does not keep early records.
Re claim of earliest FHC in NA...the key words are Registered by JDHT. Earlier known ones in the US were 679002 (now in Australia), 679006 (now in Germany?), and 679011 (in PA). However, the registered "Build Date" of 679011 in Jaguar archives is one day after that of 679012, so technically this is still the earliest known FHC.!

679002 the real one beyond any shadow of a doubt was built in time to be at the Geneva Motor Show March 1951 chassis 12 didn't leave the factory until September 1951! the 18th July is only the date the chassis was completed.
What about cars 6, 8, 10 all potentially earlier than car 12
and what about 679001 noted as built November 1950!

Answer to Terry McGrath re his comment dated 2013 -01-14: Please note I said earliest known FHC registered by JDHT in NA (North America) confirmed by the late US registrar Karen Miller. I did not claim it is the earliest FHC in the world...just the USA..
