This Jaguar XK120 is a left-hand drive Fixed Head Coupe that was manufactured on January 10, 1952 and dispatched to Hoffman Motors in New York the following January 26. Power comes from a numbers-matching 3.4-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual gearbox, and the body wears an old weathered black repaint from previous ownership. The seller acquired the car from a mechanic in 2015 following a number of years in storage. Subsequent work to bring it to running condition included installation of a new stainless steel exhaust and fuel system, though additional mechanical and cosmetic sorting is required. This XK120 is offered as a running project with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and a clean Kansas title in the seller’s name.
Originally finished in Bronze, the body was repainted in black some time ago and now shows chips, crazing, and corrosion. The seller also notes an area of damage on the front valance below the driver-side bumper. Exterior equipment includes driving lights and fender-mounted mirrors.
Body-matched 16” steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and older Dunlop tires that are reportedly from the 1960s and require replacement. A spare tire is included in the trunk. The car is pictured without its rear wheel spats.
The interior features aged tan leather upholstery, black carpeting, a wood dash panel, and a factory steering wheel. An early AM/FM radio is fitted in the dash. Smiths instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, a counter-clockwise tachometer, and a five-digit odometer that shows just under 60k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The numbers-matching 3.4L twin-cam inline-six features dual SU carburetors and is linked with a four-speed manual gearbox. The seller installed a new Bell stainless steel exhaust system as well as a fresh battery, spark plugs, brake fluid, and engine oil.
The cylinder head is stamped with engine #4017-8, which matches the engine block as well as the factory data plate and Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
A replacement fuel tank has also been fitted along with a new fuel pump, filter, and lines.
