Ebay item 4/22/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-1952-XK-120-FHC-restoration-project-/180656829511
Current bid $14,507 reserve not met, 14 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This XK 120 was taken apart for restoration 12 years ago and then put on hold. Gas was drained from tank and systems and then stored in a heated garage until recently. Engine starts and runs like a new one. Clutch and brakes work fine and it could be driven.

I have put the body parts on the car for pictures and inventory purposes and they are only temporaritly bolted on. I have boxes of parts and as of this listing I have 98% of the parts. I have been all over this car and can find no rust nor can I find any evidence of rust repair. There is the usual road grunge and surface rust on the undercarriage but no rust thru. A great restoration project.

Mechanics: Engine runs and looks great. Clutch and brakes work fine. Gas tank is clean and car runs on its own fuel system. Some loose wires that need to be tended to.

Body: As close to a rust free unrestored car as your will find. Paint ahs been stripped with one coat of primer applied.

Upholstery: Seats are in excellent condition. Headliner needs to be replaced. No carpet. Wood is in very good condition and is complete. Gauges are very good.

Chrome: Overall in good condition. Some age blemishes. As of this listing I have not found the chrome that goes on top of front fenders above the headlights. I have found all 4 hubcaps.

Rubber: Tires are old. In the picture you will see a box of rubber seals. They are new old stock that came with the car. I have not matched them up to see how complete they are but it looks like a lot of rubber.

Glass; Windshield glass is not with the car. Rear window is in good shape as well as the rest of the glass.

This is a matching number car and comes with a Heritage Certificate. A great car to restore.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
